I have ADHD and I physically cannot sit still to write an essay. Any tips?

This is a genuine struggle. I get diagnosed with ADHD last year, and it explained so much. When I try to write an essay, my brain screams at me after ten minutes. I get up, I check my phone, I pace around, I stare out the window. A 3-page essay takes me twelve hours because I can only focus in tiny bursts. Medication helps, but it's not a magic fix. For my fellow neurodivergent students: what are your strategies? Do you use specific apps? Write in weird places? Dictate instead of type? I need practical, actionable advice from people who understand that 'just sit down and do it' doesn't work for brains like ours.

Hey Darline, I feel this so hard 😭 I'm not officially diagnosed but pretty sure I'm somewhere on the spectrum and writing is actual torture. What helps me is the Pomodoro method but with really short intervals like 10 minutes writing then 5 minutes doing something physical like jumping jacks or stretching. Also noise cancelling headphones with brown noise not white noise for some reason that works better?? And I write in weird places too like sitting on the floor or at the kitchen table not my desk. My brain associates my desk with scrolling apparently lol.
