I just have to express my gratitude to whoever invented free grammar checkers. English is my third language, and while I'm pretty fluent in conversation, writing academic papers is a whole different beast. Prepositions are my nemesis.

Articles ("a," "an," "the") still trip me up. And don't even get me started on idioms. Before I discovered these tools, I would spend hours agonizing over every single sentence, and I'd still turn in papers with subtle, embarrassing errors.

Now, I write my draft, run it through a free grammar checker, and it catches so many of the little things that my brain just can't hear yet. It's not just about fixing mistakes, though. It's about learning. I see the corrections, and over time, I'm starting to internalize the rules. My writing is getting more confident and natural-sounding. It's like having a patient, 24/7 English tutor who never makes me feel stupid for asking. For any other international students out there struggling, please give these tools a try.

They are an absolute game-changer.

English is my second language and prepositions are also my mortal enemy. In, on, at, to, for—why are there so many and why do they make no sense???

LanguageTool has been my go-to because it explains WHY something is wrong, not just that it is. Like "you used 'in' but with months you actually use 'on' for specific dates" etc. It's actually teaching me, not just fixing.

Also, the "never makes me feel stupid" part is so real. Grammar checkers don't judge. They just... help. So glad you found tools that work for you! 💕
