The problem with generic services is they don't know astrophysics. Like at all. My friend paid for "expert editing" and got comments back about "the stars being pretty" and I'm like... that's not how this works. That's not how any of this works.

If you're going to use a service, make sure they actually have science editors not just general writing people. Some of the bigger sites let you request subject-matter experts for extra $. Worth it if you don't want your black hole paper coming back with "nice space clouds" in the margins.
