I want to do research over the summer, but everything costs money. Equipment, travel, even just paying rent while I'm not working. Grants are the answer — but getting them is brutal.
One guide from Sage Publications says: "Getting research grants is becoming increasingly competitive landscape. Restrictions around public funding and growth in your area might mean it's harder to get grants than it used to be."
My professor suggested starting small — university grants, departmental funding, even $500 helps. But I don't even know where to look.
Anyone have tips for finding and winning research grants as an undergrad? I need all the help I can get.
