I'm literally graduating in two weeks and my final research paper is due tomorrow. The actual paper is done (somehow!), but now I'm staring at the acknowledgements section and my brain is completely blank. 😳 How to write acknowledgement for research paper when I'm terrified of leaving someone out? My professor? The librarian who helped me find sources? My roommate who brought me snacks during all-nighters? My mom who listened to me complain for months? 🍪

I saw someone's acknowledgements once that thanked their DOG and I'm honestly considering it because my emotional support pup deserves some recognition! 🐶 For real though: What's the etiquette here? Do I need formal language or can I be genuine? Please help a stressed senior finish this thing! 🎓😭

Here's my system: Open a blank doc and just brain dump every single person who helped in any way. Professor, advisor, librarian, roommate, mom, that one friend who explained statistics to you at 2 AM. Then group them: academic supporters first, then personal. Start formal ("I wish to thank Dr. Smith for...") and gradually get warmer. By the time you reach your mom, you can say "for endless patience and snacks." It flows beautifully!
