Yo I need to vent and also warn everyone here because I just got scammed so bad and I feel like an idiot. 😤

So I had this 15-page research paper due for my poli sci class. International relations, super specific topic about trade agreements. I was swamped with job interviews and another project and I made a stupid decision. I found this website that claimed "PhD writers" and "original content" and "plagiarism free guarantee." Looked professional, had good reviews (probably fake looking back). 💻

Paid $280. TWO HUNDRED AND EIGHTY DOLLARS. That's like... my grocery money for a month. 🥲

I got the paper back 4 days later and it was SO OBVIOUSLY AI generated. Like, the sentences were all the same structure, the citations were fake (I checked, the articles don't exist), and there was this one paragraph that literally said "As an AI language model, I cannot..." NO I'M NOT JOKING. IT SAID THAT. IN THE PAPER. 🤖🤖🤖

I emailed them freaking out and they offered me a "50% refund" if I didn't leave a bad review. I said no, I want all my money back, and now they're ghosting me. $280 gone. And now I have to write this paper myself in 3 days.

I guess this is a cautionary tale. If you're thinking about using one of these services, DON'T. Or if you're going to do it anyway (I get it, desperation is real), at least don't use the first website that pops up on Google. And maybe ask for a sample first?? I didn't and I paid the price.

Has anyone actually found a legit service? Or am I just out $280 and learned a hard lesson? Also if anyone has tips for writing 15 pages in 3 days on like 4 hours of sleep, drop them below. I'm gonna need all the help I can get.

The "PhD writers" on these sites are almost never real PhDs. They're often underpaid freelancers or, increasingly, just AI with a human copy-pasting. The whole industry is built on scamming desperate students.

That said, $280 is a brutal lesson. I'm so sorry.

For your paper: 15 pages in 3 days is a lot but not impossible. Focus on quality over quantity. A well-argued 12-page paper is better than 15 pages of fluff. Professors notice.

Also, check if your school has an emergency grant or food pantry if you're now short on grocery money. Seriously. That's what they're there for.

You'll get through this. And when you do, you'll have a hell of a story for your classmates.
